A riding stable operator contacted Gut Aiderbichl. He didn't know what to do because he had no way of helping himself. An elderly lady had contacted him a few hours earlier and told him about her problem. She owned two Noriker mares and two ponies and was completely overwhelmed with their care. She wanted to give the animals away, but didn't know where to put them. Slaughter was not an option because she wanted her animal friends to be well. That's when the idea of turning to Gut Aiderbichl came up. Dieter Ehrengruber had no choice but to follow this call. After all, the alternatives for the animals did not look so rosy. And we experience anew every day that animal welfare always means human welfare.
