It is not uncommon for pets to be acquired so that children learn responsibility. Usually this involves a dog or a cat. In the case of Larissa and Lissy, the parents decided on two Pinzgauer mountain goats for the three siblings to take care of. They did this with full enthusiasm and zeal. The goats were to lack for nothing. When the parents separated, this not only hit the children very hard, but the lives of the two goat girls were threatened. Neither the mother nor the father had the means to keep the property after the separation and neither had the time or the means to take the goats with them and look after them. Slaughter was the only possible option for the family. When an animal lover found out about this, she wanted to leave no stone unturned.
