The characters of the animals are just as different as those of us. Some are easy to handle, others less so. Laura belongs more to the second category. She never warmed up to vets and farriers, and her treatment is correspondingly difficult. Her owners had no more patience, nor the will to take care of a recalcitrant horse, and turned their backs on her and her mother Lotte. But both were lucky and were allowed to take up residence at Gut Aiderbichl. In our care, she was also allowed to mourn in peace when her mother peacefully fell asleep forever.
