In the Swiss Simmental, a farmer was amazed when little Lilli was born. She had six legs and when an animal welfare activist asked for her life, he was happy to sell her to the woman. When she was looking for a place to live, Gut Aiderbichl came to her attention. We agreed to take Lilli in, but before she could move to Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf, her superfluous legs were removed in a four-hour operation in Bern. Whoever sees Lilli today, playing candy in the pasture with her friends, can still recognise the scars of the operation, but cannot imagine the story behind it.
