Mimi belongs to the endangered breed of the Zackel sheep. They used to be part of the typical appearance of the Hungarian puszta. But unfortunately, due to industrialisation, there are only a few thousand of them in the world today and they have almost disappeared from the scene. Little Mimi was born on a farm in Austria, but her life was not under a good star. Her mother died shortly after giving birth and no other Zackel sheep in the breeder's flock would accept the little orphan lamb. When our horse manager Martina heard about this fate, she took the little lamb, who was only a few days old, in order to raise her with a bottle. Not an easy undertaking, but thanks to our experience, Mimi made it.
