Oakland Lilly belongs to the breed of Shire Horses. They are extremely gentle cat-blood horses and come from England. In our country, they were often used as draught horses. Not infrequently in breweries. Their owners, an elderly couple, lived happily with them, like a family. The little paradise was abruptly lost when old age brought the couple to their knees. They could no longer adequately care for their beloved horses. A painful separation was imminent. In such cases, the trader is already waiting to pick up the horses and take them to a slaughterhouse. The happy horses had become death candidates. When we learned of this fate, we agreed to take them in at Gut Aiderbichl.
