Raimund saw the light of day under the care of Gut Aiderbichl. But things almost turned out differently. His mother's owner wanted to give up the entire herd and have it slaughtered. But the vice mayor did not want to allow this and asked us for help. When Michael Aufhauser heard which cattle were involved, he immediately agreed to place the animals at Gut Aiderbichl Kilb. Among them was Irene_Henrike. But what was so special about these cattle? They were so-called aurochs, which are considered to be the origin of 500 known breeds of cattle. Unfortunately, all aurochs are backbred, which had been created in the turmoil of the Second World War. The wild form unfortunately died out around 1627, but our present aurochs are very close to the nevertheless wild form. To preserve these animals, we give them a voice and try to tell their story to a wide public.
