Dog Riccarda

Again and again one reads in newspapers of humans, who collect animals ill and one gets a depressing feeling around the heart. In such cases one speaks of Animal Hoarding and one does not want to imagine in which condition the animals are probably when you are released from this situation. When we received a call in 2019 from a veterinarian who asked us to take in 30 small dogs, we could not have imagined the scale of this rescue. Arriving in front of the house in Upper Austria, we realized that danger was imminent here, in this house probably hundreds of dogs had already died. Although the residents refused us access to the house, they were cooperative and counted 30 dogs, which they handed over to us. Their condition was pitiful and their fur was sticky with feces and urine. There were more dogs in the house that needed help. A few days later we got the chance to help them too and brought another 38 dogs to us at Gut Aiderbichl. It took a lot of time, patience, love and most of all financial resources to give each dog the medical care they needed. They all went through a terrible trauma, survived an unbelievable attitude and still did not lose their trust and unconditional love in humans. In the meantime, all the dogs, including Riccarda, have found their people, but continue to be under the protection of Gut Aiderbichl and have the right to return home at any time.
