The fact that Rosa and her mother can live in peace at Gut Aiderbichl today is thanks to a great coincidence and their farmers. Mama Glück belongs to the Pinzgauer cattle breed, and thus to an endangered breed. She lived for many years on a small farm in the province of Salzburg. The animals there live in suckler cow husbandry - bulls, young cattle, calves and cows share pasture and stable. "Glück" gave life to some calves. But in the last few years she did not get pregnant again. So the farmer's family had to make a difficult decision and part with her. What nobody suspected: Glück was pregnant and gave birth to a healthy calf in the butcher's stall on the morning of her impending slaughter! Slaughter was no longer an option...
