When we heard about a 17-headed herd of aurochs that were to be slaughtered, we wanted to help and brought the small herd to us at Gut Aiderbichl Kilb. This breed is something special, because they are a back-breeding of the aurochs and also threatened with extinction. Sammy was born at Gut Aiderbichl, but his mother had abandoned him and did not take care of the little calf. Our keepers took over this task and raised him. Unfortunately, he is a lot smaller than his peers, but that does not bother us - we love him anyway.
