It was a large-scale rescue by animal lovers. They took in several mini pigs from a farmer who was overwhelmed with keeping his many animals. But one of the pigs had gone into hiding and could not be found. She was pregnant and gave birth to at least two piglets in the forest. When we caught them, they were wandering around alone and helpless. There was no sign of their mother anywhere. It was quite possible that she had been shot by a hunter or had had an accident. Alone, they would have had no chance of survival in the forest. At Gut Aiderbichl we named them Stefanie and Oliver (†), Steffi and Olli for short.
