In October 2007, animal rights activists and the police stopped a Romanian transporter of horses for slaughter because the animals were to be transported to Belgium under the worst conditions, some of them even injured. The animal rights activists contacted Gut Aiderbichl and asked Michael Aufhauser for help. He immediately got into his car and drove to the scene of the incident. Thanks to the support of the animal rights activists and an animal-loving couple, who helped us with a generous donation, we were able to buy all 21 slaughter horses and bring them to safety at Gut Aiderbichl.
