An attentive consumer would assume that if it says "organic" on the label, it means "organic" on the inside: animals leading a happy and contented life. Looking at the rescued 1,500 chickens, many of which we were able to take over ourselves, feathers were missing from large areas of their bodies, they were hectic and anything but happy. Chickens in a similar condition are known from other forms of husbandry that do not put animal welfare first, but do not advertise it either. By rescuing Arre, we want to draw attention to the suffering of the chickens and encourage people to be more conscious of their food.
