Hayrettin was only 173 days old when she was offered for auction at the foal market in Rottenbuch. Together with her mother, she had to do her rounds and present herself in the hope of finding a good buyer. It is not uncommon for traders to bid at these auctions and then send these animal children on a slaughter transport. The reason: they are not beautiful enough. Michael Aufhauser named the filly Hayrettin, because she reminded him of a horse he had saved from death in his early days and with whom he had a special friendship.
