Hermes belongs to the fallow deer breed, which originated in the Near East and Minor Asia. Today, however, they are native to many parts of Europe. A special feature of the fallow deer: their shovel antlers - different from those of our red deer Batzi - and the normally brown fur with white spots. Hermes is something very special and he seems to know it. His snow-white coat is an anomaly that is relatively common in fallow deer. Seen that myths still surround the white stag, only rarely does anyone want to mess with them. For example, there is a persistent rumour that if you shoot a white stag, you will die within two years. This superstition still has a lot of power and ultimately contributed to Hermes' salvation.
