The University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna has been conducting animal experiments with ponies for many years, but also with other animals such as cattle, llamas and pigs. Always for progress and for veterinary medicine and without animal suffering, as is known from other experiments. The research of recent years, in which seven ponies have also taken part, has led to the further development of techniques in the field of anesthesia - groundbreaking results that can ultimately help all horses. Johnny and his friends had now reached an age at which they should be withdrawn from research. The vet in charge wanted a safe place for her protégés where they could be treated lovingly. So Johnny, Eliot, Muck, Pascha, Pauli, Piccolo and Shaggy came to Gut Aiderbichl.
