Again and again we receive requests from animal welfare activists who want to save chickens in need. These are mostly chickens that are to be sorted out or slaughtered at just 18 months of age. At this age, the animals are molting and do not lay eggs for a short time. Since it is cheaper for the producers to simply replace the stock, it is not uncommon for thousands of animals to be sent to their death. Again and again we try to help and take in hens. Ayla is one of them and may stay with us forever.
