It is usually very noisy at foal markets. When we found the young foal at a market that day, it was only called "number 54". It ran beside its mother in circles over and over again. It didn't know what all the commotion was about. Michael Aufhauser and the Gut Aiderbichl team were on site that day to save the lives of some of the foals - because it was not uncommon for young animals to be loaded onto a slaughter truck at such auctions. On this day, "number 54" became our dear Flicka, who can now spend her life in peace and quiet at Gut Aiderbichl France. She was soon able to cope well with the trauma she suffered at the age of 118 days in her new home.
