Maggi belongs to the so-called Zackel sheep, which are considered very robust and hardy. They originate from the Hungarian Pustza and have been considered endangered since 1903. With a lot of effort and ingenuity, this wonderful breed could be saved into modern times, but the danger is not over yet. In our fast-moving times, Zackel sheep have almost no place. Gery Keszler, the founder and long-time organizer of the Life Ball, recognized the plight of these animals and wanted to help. On his property lives a small herd around which he cares lovingly. But when this became too large, he asked Gut Aiderbichl for help. This is how Maggi became part of our family.
