Marie's life was fought hard for. She had had her day as a dairy cow and was to be taken to the slaughterhouse. An animal lover wanted to buy her, but the farmer refused. The woman then pulled out all the stops and even managed to get the "animal corner" of the Austrian daily newspaper "Krone" to take over the negotiations. When the entrepreneurial couple Gaston and Kathrin Glock intervened, Marie could breathe a sigh of relief. She can now stay at Gut Aiderbichl until the end of her natural life: "Even farm animals are valuable and have a right to a good life," the animal welfare activist is happy to say.
