When we promised calf Toni in February 2015, we were delighted to be able to give him a new home. But at the same time it made us sad. Because many of the male calves find no buyers in Austria if they come from breeds like Jersey cattle. They are much more difficult to fatten than, for example, the so-called Fleckvieh. Ten thousands of calves are exported abroad in this way every year and are not infrequently on the road for up to 90 hours when they finally arrive at their destination - truly a sin of humanity in the 21st century!
