The childhood of chimpanzees follows a plan in nature, the imprinting phase is of utmost importance. In the jungle, there is a lot to learn about animals, about heat and rainy periods, and much more. With Isidor the development to a chimpanzee child had just begun. Then monkey hunters came into the forest. 1979 was the year of the apocalypse for him. Put in a dark box, he was flown from Africa to Austria. Then he was surrounded by bars for 23 years. In stressful situations, he bites his fingernails and gets tremors. Slowly, he has overcome his fear of heights more and more and is now already climbing around a bit inside - but he always needs something to hold on to. Isidor swings in his friendships very often and has a rather inscrutable character. In a quarrel, everyone is eager to get him on his side. Isidor likes to join in to show that he can be a friend. It gives him great pleasure when the nurses distribute salt sticks. Isidor first gnaws down the salt and then devotes himself to the pastries.
