Maria's rescue was not under a good star. Animal lovers approached us and asked us to take in a dwarf calf. We agreed, but also mentioned that we would need some time to find a suitable place. The farmer was so annoyed that little Maria simply sold to the butcher. When we heard about this, we went in search of little Maria and found her at a slaughterhouse. The butcher told us that this had been rescue at the last second, because actually it would have been her "turn" for that day. But thanks to the enormous delay of the vet, her slaughter date was postponed - Maria is now an Aiderbichler and may stay until the natural end of her life.
