In spring 2017, our farrier approached us with a very unusual request. He had saved a horse from the butcher. Buddy was only skin and bones. Although the farrier wanted to try it himself, he feared that he would not be able to feed Buddy up. "He just doesn't put on any weight and eats me poor," he said, slightly despairing. In October, the time had finally come: Buddy moved into Gut Aiderbichl, because he would probably not survive a winter in this condition in an open stable. So we accepted the challenge and managed to feed Buddy "healthy".
