Curly and her conspecifics were more than sheep for their owners - they were family, friends, companions and for the husband also therapists. The latter suffered from severe rheumatism and taking care of the sheep was a joy and also an occupation for him. The heavy work, such as mucking out, etc., was done by two young boys who found a hobby in caring for the animals. But the boys grew up, entered their professional lives and no longer had time to come over regularly. For the older couple it was clear that a solution was needed. They turned to us and asked us to take in the fourteen black-nosed sheep.
