When an animal welfare activist brought Fleur to our attention, the animal was just standing at the livestock dealer. She was only two years old at the time and suffered from summer eczema. This disease is not easy for a horse to cope with and for the owner it means a lot of effort. Obviously, Fleur's owner did not forgive her for this blemish and probably for this reason she came into the horse trade. The horse dealer was surprised at that time that we wanted just this horse and said: "I call a horse like that a 'left'. You'd better take a 'right' one, which is problem-free and healthy." He had no idea at that time that it is precisely the losers and the "lefties" who need us the most and whom we would like to help with all our hearts.
