It was not without reason that we decided to take in a small West Highland cattle family with us at Gut Aiderbichl Iffeldorf a few years ago. Their lives were in danger and they had to be taken as soon as possible. Now bull calf Beatnik finally has a playmate. Because Cilla, the mother cow, already came to us pregnant again. The noble breed of West Highland cattle came to our latitudes from Scotland in the 70s. Where they come from, they have been around for more than 300 years. On old reliefs you can clearly see that they were already domesticated in ancient times in India. Their absolute fans include the royal family of England, who keep a large herd near their Balmoral Castle in Scotland. In the meantime, many farmers in our country have switched to this frugal breed. They are ideal landscape keepers.
