The Toulouse geese Sonja and Markus had a sad existence. They were not cared for regularly, so an Aiderbichler woman kept looking after them and bringing them food. When she finally learned that the area was to be farmed elsewhere and the two geese would have to go, the animal lover contacted the owner. She was determined to save the lives of the two geese and was finally granted permission to take Markus and Sonja with her. But geese, which can live up to 30 years, need company, exercise and a place to bathe in order to lead a life that is appropriate for the animals and their species. The Aiderbichler knew that we have a poultry village at our Aiderbichl Carinthia estate and so she contacted us and asked for our help. Fortunately we were able to agree.
