At the end of August 2022, we received a call for help from an animal shelter in the Donetsk region. They had received an evacuation notice and an animal rescuer from the town of Dobropillia had to give up her shelter. But the woman wants to fight for the lives of her 94 dogs and 31 cats and not leave them to die alone. We have decided to help here and will do everything we can to bring them all to safety. As we could not take all the dogs and cats at once, it was necessary to plan two trips. Zidan was brought to safety in October 2022.
Character:
Zidan came to us and did not want to know about people, he did not know any collar or chest harness. He was afraid of any touch. Since a few weeks we can go for a walk with this cautious dog. There are still situations when he stops or lies down to observe the surroundings. Zidan does not enter indoors voluntarily
What we have practiced / learned so far:
The walk was our first goal. Now he already dares to go indoors. first basic commands are built in during the walk.
Behavior:
- Adults: very friendly and approachable, but cautious
- Children: friendly, but he does not like fast movements
- Cats: must be tested
- Congeners: so far no problems with dogs,
Health:
Zidan had two broken hind legs due to a car accident, which were operated and screwed. At the moment he has no pain and problems.
Nutrition :
We feed twice a day (dry and wet food) tolerates everything well
