The tragedy of a young mare
In her young years, the 3-year-old mini-shetty mare Josie has already experienced the most horrible moments life can offer, which can hardly be surpassed in cruelty. Actually, little Josie was supposed to live a happy life together with her mother, but financial hardships forced the owner of the two mini ponies to look for a new home for her beloved four-legged friends.
With a heavy heart, she signed an extensive protection contract with the supposed shelter operators, but then everything turned out differently. For months, the sanctuary operators kept the lady in the dark about the state of health and the whereabouts of Josie and her mum. Only with the help of a lawyer she learned about the tragedy that little Josie had to go through.
Against all promises, Josie's mum Brenda was brutally slaughtered and fed to zoo animals. Brenda's remains, which could not be used, were disposed of in a waste bin. The previous owner learned of the horrific facts too late and did everything in her power to save at least her foal Josie. Her cry for help reached the animal rescuers at Gut Aiderbichl and Josie now found a new forever home at Gut Aiderbichl Ballermann Ranch.

Time heals all wounds
In the meantime, the young Mini Shetland mare has found her first friend at the Gut Aiderbichl Ballermann Ranch in Lower Saxony. Together with Fridolin, who is the same age, she dashes across the paddocks and causes a lot of chaos in the stable. We hope that "Cheeky Fridolin" and the Ballermann Ranch pony troop will help heal the wounds in the soul of Josie aka "Punker Möppie".
