Goose Hansi and pig Jakob
Animals are capable of true friendship
Like humans, our animal creatures the proximity to other living beings. It is not only on the farms of Gut Aiderbichl that numerous friendships develop between people and animals or even between animals of different species. Jakob and Hansi show us al least that unusual animal friendships can mean a bond for life.
Hansi is a Pomeranian goose and his friend Jakob a pot-bellied pig. Both lived with a family who had to find their animals a new home.
Jakob, the pot-bellied pig, loves children, dogs and cats. He lived indoors and only went outdoors when he needed to defecate.
Jakob's friend Hansi is a Pomeranian goose. Also the goose lived some time in the house of the family until a second goose was acquired. From that time the geese spent their life in the garden. At some point, Hansi's conspecific died, so the pot-bellied pig became his best friend.
Now the house is in danger of collapsing and the family has to move out and has to find a new home for the animals.
At Gut Aiderbichl you are allowed to be who you are
Hansi and Jakob have settled in at Gut Aiderbichl Iffeldorf well. There are many chattering for Hansi as well as "oinking" friends for Jacob. All day long, they can move freely around the farm, but, in the evening, they go back to the common stable. Just as they lived with their former owners. Hansi is a very calm, beautiful Pomeranian goose. The Pomeranian goose has been around since the 14th century. Since 1912, it is recognized as a breed and belongs to the most popular goose breeds in the german speaking countries.
Hansi has the typical belly dewlap and the also typical horizontal tail with shortgray feathers. Not only because Hansi is already over 14 years old, he is quiet and calm. The calm character is also a characteristic of the Pomeranian goose. The coloring of the feather dress is either white, gray like Hansi, or gray piebald. Hansi's friends among the geese are now Sissi and Dieter, two white domestic geese. He also likes to waddlewith them over the meadows of Iffeldorf.
Jacob already finds new friends
Jakob, the six-year-old pot-bellied pig, is looking for a quiet place in the sun. His favorite activities are eating and sleeping. One of his best friends is likely to be Charly, a black pot-bellied pig. As one observes, Jakob is not so sure yet. But he will be. Charly is eight years old and black. He was found as an eight-week-old piglet in a parking lot. Animal lovers found the little piglet, so Charly lived in their garage for a while, which of course was no solution in the long run. He is very shy, timid and quite skeptical. Jakob is perhaps the one who will help him to like people and above all not to be afraid.
