"Spatzal"
bleats in a new herd of goats
Goats are among the oldest domestic animals used for economic purposes. Around 10,000 years ago, the undemanding, adaptable goat was domesticated and for a long time was regarded as "the milk cow of the little man".
Spatzal ran and lived for two years in a flock of sheep. This flock of sheep had to be given away, but Spatzal could not go with them.
Since the castration, Spatzal lost more and more of his fur and was also in veterinary treatment. Unfortunately nobody knew why Spatzal lost his fur. His general health condition is good, but he just does not look so "nice".
The former owners called him "Spatz" and he was described as a sweet, trusting and bright guy.
"Spatzal" feels good
Michael, estate manager in Eslarn, says "Spatzal has settled in super. He is healthy. The thing with the beauty, yes, that is relative. The fur will come back. The important thing is that Spatzal is doing well!
"Spatzal" is a very curious and smart goat. He wants to know everything and also follows Michael almost everywhere. Nimble and bouncy, he often runs to the sheep and perhaps remembers the flock of sheep in which he grew up.
Lonely has become Spatzal's good friend
Lonely has been living with Michael in Eslarn for six years now. She has not been alone and lonely for a long time - quite the opposite. She likes the life in the goat herd in Eslarn very much, because she has so many conspecifics to run, play and cuddle here.
Lonely was abandoned a few years ago. It was early in the morning and our goats were just being led out to pasture. There was a strange goat tied to the fence. Next to it, a cardboard box weighted down with a log. From the cardboard box it bleated miserably and quietly. Two newborn kids were bleating for help.
Abandoned goats - what there is. The two kids were christened Melody and Milou and could be with mom Lonely in the warm stable or outside in the pasture with the other goats.
The owner could not be located, because Lonely and her two babies did not have ear tags.
There is nothing that does not exist
Spatzal has found a new heart-friend, the beautiful Lonely. He enjoys his life in the large goat family in Eslarn.
Again and again he is drawn to the sheep, but then he hears Lonely "calling" and turns back.
The joys of life are learned from animals.
