Fate does not ask about age, about origin, nor does it answer how everything should go on when it strikes.
A young woman became a nursing case and her condition required that she be permanently placed in a nursing facility. Her pets Devil and Carlo needed to be cared for. The parents have three dogs in their own home. The parents felt overwhelmed with their daughter's sudden new situation, and asked Gut Aiderbichl for help. The tragic story reached its climax when the daughter also died.
Since a few weeks Teufelchen and Carlo live in the animal shelter of Gut Aiderbichl in Osnabrück.
"When we help animals, we also help people ..."
The philosophy of Gut Aiderbichl understands help for the weaker as all-embracing help, which of course also includes humans. If an animal owner is struck by a bolt of fate in the middle of his life and it is no longer possible for him to care for his animals, one must look and help.
The parents of the affected woman were also overwhelmed with the situation.
(...) "Please help us!!! We were at an open house with you a few months ago, but could not have known at the time that we would urgently need your help. (...). Anita Hartner, Gut Aiderbichl Osnabrück, had to put the family off because there was no room for Teufelchen and Carlo at the moment. But two weeks later, the cats could be assured that they would be taken in.
Dieter Ehrengruber and his team have been working for many years in a solution-oriented manner in the interests of the animals and the people. Likewise, the employees of Gut Aiderbichl do not raise their scolding fingers. Behind every animal fate is a human fate. It is necessary to talk to each other, to look at things and understand them, to find a solution to the satisfaction of all involved. At this point we would also like to thank all Aiderbichler sponsors, without whose support it would be difficult to turn many a sad human and animal fate into a happy one.
Teufelchen and Carlo will not forget their previous owner
On the day the cats were taken in, the daughter died in an accident. What must some people experience? The day when the daughter's funeral was to take place was also the day when Devil and Carlo were taken in. This is a situation that actually demands to sit down for two minutes, close your eyes, and let this tragic movie play out. Just give yourself time to feel and perhaps understand this situation.
Did little devil and Carlo felt and guessed what was happening around them? Many people think that the cat goes its own way, and it considers the human as a food can opener. However, cats also go their own way, similar to Dogs, form a close bond with conspecifics as well as with their owners. For cats, their owner is the source of security. If they are stressed, they feel good, safe and secure with their human.
Cats have emotions similar to humans. Therefore, there is no reason to assume that a cat does not feel anything when it snuggles up to you on the sofa, but rather it is the sign that it feels trust and affection.
If cat Teufelchen and tomcat Carlo also withdrew in the beginning in the new environment with Anita, and by the new situation more meow, than in the familiar environment of the deceased previous owner, they fit in nevertheless more and more into the new, safe and protected living situation and environment. Carlo with the beautiful white chest patch is still elegantly restrained, Teufelchen has come to terms well with the roommates.

The cat family at Gut Aiderbichl Osnabrück has got two new members, Teufelchen and Carlo, who can spend their twilight years in peace and comfort with all the other cats. May they have a good, happy time among all the other cats.
