Aslan, Nacho, Akira, Shiva and Mira
5 cats that the heirs did not want ...
Aslan, Nacho, Akira, Shiva and Mira lived with a gentleman on a farm in Upper Austria. After the death of the cat owner, five cats were taken over by an animal organization and six more cats came to an animal shelter in Upper Austria. Now the animals were taken care of for the time being, were medically treated and had enough food.
The heirs wanted nothing to do with the cats
The yard was blocked. Furthermore, cats and pigeons lived there. People came and provided the animals with food and water.
Even before the passing of the animal-loving man, two women had helped to care for the many animals. For example, they caught the cats and had them neutered. Then they came back to the farm. The young kittens could be placed. Vet trips, food procurement, etc. were taken over by animal-loving people, the old farmer was no longer able to do this himself.
Aslan, Nacho, Akira, Shiva and Mira had to leave the shelter due to lack of space.
A lady from the circle of helpers of the cats, was informed by the shelter that the cats had to "go away" as soon as possible for reasons of space.
The cats were shy - for months, the lady who was now to take the cats away - had driven to the animals again and again to take away their shyness and their insecurities, and had been quite successful with it.
Despite all efforts, Aslan, Nacho, Akira, Shiva as well as Mira remained remained unadoptable. No animal welfare organization, no horse farm and also no private persons wanted or could give the animals a protected home. One rejection followed the other. But: There was still Gut Aiderbichl ...
Gut Aiderbichl Maria Schmolln as a last resort for the old man's cats
(...) I would ask them with all my heart if they would have a home for the 5 remaining cats that are quartered in a stray room ... Abandonment, anywhere, is heartless to me and I just can't stand it (...).
Aslan, Nacho, Akira, Shiva and Mira are very pretty cats, who now gradually feel more familiar with their new conspecifics, accept their new humans in Maria Schmolln, and: also slowly start to enjoy their carefree life in their new forever-home.
If you have a cat, you do not have to fear being alone.
~ Daniel Defoe
Did the old man have so many animals because he no longer had people around him? Was he so lonely that only the purring of his many cats gave him joy? We will never know.
