Little Felix

and his great friends

Felix, now half a year old, was born small. His fur is brown-white coloured and he has very kind, beautiful eyes. From the very beginning, his life was a very special one. The bull calf was born on the farm in the village of Allerheiligen in Styria. It was immediately noticeable that the little calf was different: he was small and delicate and looked around questioningly. Unfortunately, the family could not keep little Felix in the stable due to lack of space.

Felix should be allowed to live

Slaughter was out of the question for the family and they thought about where Felix could be given a chance to live on. They remembered Gut Aiderbichl. Our keepers have been able to gain a lot of experience with small cattle in recent years. For example, the dwarf bull calves Willi, Lucky and Munti also live at Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf and are doing well. These cattle also came from farmers who asked us if their bull calves, which were too small, could be taken in.

Felix "the lucky one" moved into Gut Aiderbichl Deggendorf

The administrator of Gut Aiderbichl Deggendorf, Benedikt Gruber, immediately took little Felix into his heart. He felt that Felix was a special animal. He is lovable, cuddly, very calm and nothing and no one can upset him. Felix is well-behaved in the truest sense of the word and follows Benedikt wherever he goes.

Every morning, when he comes out into the open air, Felix starts his round of visits to the animals. And he does it in a way that makes you think he was in a yoga class before the walk. Quietly and comfortably. He stops at every animal as if to say "Good morning".

The little one likes the really big cattle

It is noticeable that Felix does not shy away from his large fellow dogs and stands by them at the fence as if they were just having a chat. Like a little sir, he listens and says "I understand you perfectly, big Egon". Egon would have been shot due to a flood in 2013, because the breeding barn was flooded. The bulls were not supposed to die of drowning, so they were considering having the bulls shot on the advice of the state veterinarian. Egon managed to escape and remained standing on a hill in the middle of the flood until we were able to rescue him. Maybe this story fascinates little Felix again and again?

Felix reminds Benedikt of his beloved donkey Rudi

Rudi unfortunately passed away a few weeks ago for age-related reasons. He followed Benedikt everywhere all day long. He loved to be there when Benedikt was repairing fences or doing other work. He wanted to know everything and was the four-legged master builder at Gut Aiderbichl Deggendorf.

Dreamily, Benedikt now watches little Felix as he happily strolls across the grace yard and greets the animals. And Felix senses this, turns to Benedikt and accompanies him, just as Rudi the donkey once did. Let's wish him many healthy years. It is nice that he was allowed to stay alive thanks to your help and support. Please continue to support us with a small donation or a sponsorship. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
