The bull calf Maiki

A life in the box

Maiki was lucky in bad luck. He was born as a bull calf on a farm. After that came a lonely life in the box and soon the slaughterhouse would follow. A walker discovered him. He lived alone in the box and the two became friends. The farmer said that the calf was not suitable for breeding and therefore it should be slaughtered.

The animal-loving man could not believe that his friend would not live much longer. He bought him free and now started looking for a stable for "Maiki".

Keeping them in the garden would not be appropriate for the species

Maiki's friend knew that cattle need a stable and a large pasture. Of course, he couldn't offer him either. But at least little Maiki was free for once and didn't have to go to the slaughterhouse. He called Gut Aiderbichl. Dieter Ehrengruber heard the story and was happy to do something for little Maiki. So he did his part and Maiki was picked up by the Gut Aiderbichl transporter. The journey was to go to Gut Aiderbichl Eslarn.

If anyone can do it with calves, it's...

Michael from Eslarn. He carefully put a rope on Maiki to get him out of his box. He probably didn't really know what was going on. His rescuer was also there and this familiar voice slowly coaxed Maiki out into the open. This hurdle was now cleared. They waited a little, talked to Maiki and stroked him. He calmed down and slowly approached the Gut Aiderbichl transporter.

It smelled of cattle, there was lots of hay and a smooth ride to Eslarn

Many cattle had already gone to their "freedom" in the transporter, maybe Maiki could smell that. In any case, he became calmer and more and more relaxed. When he arrived in Eslarn, his rescuer and many other cattle were already waiting to greet little Maiki with a quiet "moo". In the meantime, he has settled in well and leads a safe and contented life in the stable in Eslarn.

Bull calves and their value

A bull calf brings about five hundred euros. Bulls are needed for breeding, but the majority of bull calves are "disposed of"... Maiki was lucky - he was allowed to live because a human being "looked" and showed commitment for an animal's life. People who respect and love animals will never question their value, but feel respect and love for the four-legged creatures that enrich our lives as fellow creatures.

Only thanks to your support, we can help animals in need, like little Maiki, and give them a forever home. Please continue to help us with a small donation or a sponsorship. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.
