The dark, bright world of cat Cappuccino

Cappuccino's world is dark because he went blind due to a detached retina, but at the same time it is bright because human hands saved him and he now has a safe forever home at Heimathof Gut Aiderbichl Traisen has found.

Animals are matters of the heart ...

A detailed, lovingly written e-mail reached the animal emergency center of Gut Aiderbichl a few days ago. A cat lover has been taking care of the stray cats in her village for several years and works voluntarily in an animal welfare association. She managed to set up a castration project, nurse sick cats back to health and then also successfully place them.

Cappuccino was released again after castration

Cappuccino and two other kittens were released after neutering. Unfortunately, one cat was run over, but Cappuccino and the second kitten did not let the lady out of her sight.

Cappuccino's behavior changed. He ran against house walls and objects and also showed more aggressive behavior. The vision problems worsened more and more, and so the lady decided to take Cappuccino in.

A genetic retinal detachment complicated Cappuccino's life

No effort or financial expense was spared to find out whether the medicine could help Cappuccino. A clinical examination was to confirm that unfortunately this was not the case.
Cappuccino was given his own room and was led on a leash into the garden. The problem was the full-time job of his rescuer, because the care that the blind cat Cappuccino needed was limited by work.

Do you remember the story of the blind and deaf cat Lucy, who lives in Traisen? This animal story spurred the lady to inquire at Gut Aiderbichl whether Cappuccino could be taken in.

Disabilities make a life worth living and valuable

Incontinence, blindness, deafness, cat cold, paralysis ... should not mean the end of an animal's life. There are many great people who love and value an animal with a handicap just as much as if it were perfectly healthy, even though keeping an animal with a handicap means a lot of work, many therapies, high veterinary costs, etc. The employees of Gut Aiderbichl learn from every new animal with a handicap that this life is valuable, that the animals are grateful in their own way, that people value them.

Cappuccino lives in a "cat-male flat-sharing community" in Traisen. His closest friends are now tomcat Cookie and Socke. Cappuccino plays with them, cuddles with his friends and seems to be happy all around. He also especially enjoys the run with his friends Cookie and Socke.

Animals can't write the word "love", but they can show it all the better. - A bow to people who help animals in need and thus are an important piece of the puzzle in animal welfare. Every helping human makes the voice of the animals stronger and louder.

Sincerely, your Gisela
