Anton loves women
and Gustav loves running ducks

well then ...

"... The animals are my greatest joy on all days ..."

Throughout her life, a woman cares for animals in need. Among them are Anton and Gustav, as well as eight drakes. The animal-loving woman, who is now struggling with her own illness, has always cared for all the rescued animals until the natural end of their lives. Now the time has come for her to question how everything will continue when she is no longer around. She does not want to burden her husband or her children with her pets.

It was not possible to socialize the Cholmogory ganders with geese

Anton and Gustav come from hand rearing, both are likely to be mismated: Anton has formed a special bond with his new owner from day one, and Gustav loves all the running ducks he meets.

Cholmogory geese have been bred for meat in the Black Earth region of Russia since the 19th century. The ganders can weigh up to 12 kg and the goose up to 10kg. They come in white, gray, blue and as pinto. White ganders like Anton and Gustav have blue eyes, at the base of the beak is a pronounced rounded hump - similar to the well-known hump goose. So, this beautiful breed is a very large, long and heavy goose in the overall physique, well rounded with tight-fitting plumage.

The owner would have liked to provide female company for Anton and Gustav, as well as the eight running ducks, but she would have had to take in a drake with the duck, which was not her goal. Apart from that, Cholmogory geese were not to be found at all.

"... So now, with a heavy heart, I'm Googling for ways to house my ganders ..."

Like all geese, Gustav and Anton also like to chatter and loudly. When the animal-loving lady was in the garden with her geese, Anton sometimes forgot to bathe, because he wanted to adore his owner and accompany her, and also clean her and tell her stories quietly (he chattered quietly to himself).
Gustav, meanwhile, is spending time with the running ducks, and thus finds his fulfillment.
On command "Come, come" the ganders used to be called into their enclosure and on "Gehma" they all followed the lady into the stable.

The new forever home for Anton and Gustav

The two special Cholmogory geese have many conspecifics at Gut Aiderbichl Carinthia. Anton especially loves his female keepers, but leaves his waddling feet off the male keepers. Gustav has his fun with the running ducks and also listens to the female keepers when there is no other way.

A heart's desire has thus come true, Gustav and Anton feel comfortable and content in their new home.
Let's wish all the best to their former owner. After Anton and Gustav belong to a very intelligent breed of animals, they will surely never forget their great friend.

The soul is the same in all living beings, only the body is different.
