Dog Apollo
Corona brought a farewell forever
For eleven years, the life of the black labrador mongrel Apollo was fine. He loved his owners and was especially a loyal companion and friend to his master.
The owner has been suffering from blocked blood vessels for many years and had several stents implanted. The walks with Apollo were the highlight of the sick man's life. The world seemed fine so far.
Corona brought the sad turn of events for Apollo and "the pack"
In March, the owner fell ill with Corona virus and so his already failing health took another severe hit. It has become absolutely impossible for him to go for walks with his friend Apollo. The stent implants are closed and a few days ago he had to undergo another operation. Apollo's mistress is now back at work to earn money. So the situation became more and more hopeless and the couple asked to take in their beloved dog.
The separation was inevitable
Now Apollo is in a dog group at Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf. He was insecure and sad at first. What he enjoys in any case are the daily walks and playing with his fellow dogs in the meadow.
Apollo is now moving so much that he has also lost a little weight and is incredibly happy when he can go outside.
How is Apollo really doing?
You can interpret his body language and observe his eating behaviour. We have the impression that Apollo is doing well. Dogs always live in the present and don't think about the future or the past. Apollo is interested in the now, and there is a lot going on right now. His pack, in which he lived for eleven years, has more or less dissolved for him. But Apollo has certainly felt that his master's health is not good and perhaps he was also worried about it.
Apollo has now found many new friends
All the keepers love him - the black Apollo with the beautiful eyes and the smile on his face. When he is happy, he smiles and that is usually when he goes out into nature. So he wags and is happy when it's "Come on Apollo, we're going for a walk!"
Apollo is looking for "new" people - give him a chance.
