Ox Obelix

has hobbies, a great character and
wished for an exciting new forever home

Obelix's owners are organic farmers in Switzerland. They gave a voice to their three and a half year old ox, and Dieter Ehrengruber was served a finished, touching animal story of Obelix. This story described Obelix's hobbies, his character, his health and his desire for a new, exciting home.

Obelix is a blue and white Belgian and half brown cattle, and was born in the pasture. The birth was difficult, but the cow and her calf managed to survive. Obelix grew up in an organic pasture cattle herd that includes just over 80 cattle. The cattle can spend the whole year on the pasture. In the loose housing there is also a huge lying area for the animals, where they can also play with each other.

Why did Obelix have to leave?

Obelix was the boss in the herd of 80 cattle. The ox was getting too big for the barn, he had a large area of his own, but because of his size it was becoming more and more difficult to keep him fixed. Usually the cattle stay in this stable for a year. Obelix was feeling bored. He moved around the barn, strolling along the feeding axis. He unsettled the fixed cattle, which after all could not run away from the big Obelix. Obelix is not aggressive in any way, but as a free-roaming ox with horns, anything could happen. He is full of energy, imposing, calm and friendly, but also a little intimidating because of his size.

What should Obelix's new forever home look like?

Obelix is different from many other cattle. Looking at him, you can't imagine he could ever hurt a human with his horns. He loves the outdoors, bushes to nibble on, apple trees to get an apple from now and then, and other cattle to build a friendship with. Obelix loves geese, roosters, goats, etc. Gut Aiderbichl was able to fulfill some of his wishes.

Obelix is a personality and he always wants to be the boss

Markus Leitner, administrator at Gut Aiderbichl Kärnten, says: "Obelix has integrated himself into the existing small group of cattle here in Kärnten from the very first moment. He is now the boss, deciding which pasture to graze next, etc. Obelix gives the impression that he has always lived here. He is a real leader type and does not need a navi to find a good pasture. You can absolutely tell he comes from a barn where the animals are treated with love and respect. He follows me almost every step of the way - Obelix always wants to be there and I would never give him up! Never again!".

Let's wish Obelix a wonderful, happy life at Köglerhof in Carinthia. His former owners can visit him anytime - and it is sure that Obelix will recognize his people.
