Olaf fell in love with Frieda

What now?

Bull Olaf owes his young life to a very animal-loving man and his wife. He was actually intended for fattening, but nature had brought him very small and somewhat sickly, which in turn prevented the cattle trader from transporting him to the slaughterhaus. As a result, the farmer wanted to kill Olaf, because he brought no benefit and had no value.

After much toing and froing, a rearing place was found for Olaf. Here he could spend the summer together with two other calves. He seemed to feel very well protected by the animal-loving people. However, a new solution had to be found for the winter.

Animals have feelings and fall in love like humans

The day of separation from the two calves came closer and closer, and it was noticed that Olaf did not leave the side of Frieda, one of the calves with whom he had spent the summer. He seemed to have fallen madly in love with her and they were inseparable.
Frieda suffered from the "Äugler's disease" and was almost completely blind. The conjunctiva as well as the cornea were infected. Unfortunately, it was too late for a treatment and from then on Frieda got big problems with her vision. Now Olaf guides her everywhere.

A summer on the alp followed and Olaf enjoyed his excursions

Olaf and Frieda got the opportunity to spend the summer on a more than 2ha large pasture including shelter. The animal-loving people fell a stone from their hearts.

Olaf had decided to get to know the surroundings and jumped over the fence again and again. His last excursion ended in an ornamental garden and the tragedy began.
The damage that Olaf had caused was paid for, but the farmer, who had provided the pasture for the two cattle, did not want to take them in either unfortunately.

The drama around Olaf and Frieda expanded

Nobody wanted to take in the cattle, and on top of that the problems around Olaf and Frieda became too much for the animal-loving people for reasons of age and health.
Besides their donkeys, dogs and sheep, keeping cattle was a matter of soul for them. They always believed in the importance of farm animals and were desperately looking for a safe, lifelong place for Olaf and his beloved Frieda.

We were able to help them thanks to our sponsors and take them in at Moosfeldhof in Germany. Olaf is happy on the big pastures and Frieda is "mentally" supported by all the other cattle, because of her visual impairment. Let's wish Olaf and Frieda a long, healthy and happy life among all the cattle at Moosfeldhof.

No one who makes another's burden lighter is useless in this world.
