Two foundling cats
Cats Foxy and Hook
At eight weeks old, little red Foxy with the white spot on her chest, and the beautiful amber eyes was found on the side of the road.
What happened five years ago, we will probably never really know. Foxy is "silent."
The corded tiger was discovered and rescued by a young woman with small children on the side of the road, but unfortunately Foxy could not stay in the family. Some small accidents happened - Foxy suffered whiplash, from which she recovered very well. However, due to an accident with a car, Foxy became incontinent. The new circumstances became too much for the family and Foxy was actually to be euthanized at the veterinary hospital.
Often the veterinary clinic decides
the further fate of an animal
The veterinarians refused to euthanize Foxy due to her incontinence. Foxy's general condition was perfectly good. Euthanasia wants to be well considered. The owner's wishes alone cannot be the sole consideration in whether or not an animal is euthanized. The Code of Ethics recommends that prolongation of suffering or shortening of life based solely on the owner's wishes be rejected if the animal's general condition is good and, most importantly, the animal is not suffering.
In the case of Foxy, the vets decided to call Gut Aiderbichl's phone number and asked to take in the adorable, incontinent cat Foxy. She is developing into a little feline princess, and knows exactly what she likes and what she dislikes. Anyway, she wraps all the animal keepers around her tender little cat paws. There is no one who can resist Foxy.
Cat Foxy got a new friend:
Cat Hook
On the same day, when Foxy was taken in, also tomcat Hook came from the veterinary hospital to Gut Aiderbichl Maria Schmolln.
Hook is black as night and has only one eye. He is about the same age as his friend Foxy.
Maybe Hook could tell a sad story? A happy life story wike it probably wouldn't be. Hook is rather withdrawn. For sure it will be different in a few months. "First look where I am there now!" seems to convey Hook.
Every animal has a right to ... To what?
It has a right to respect, to be cared for and kept in a manner appropriate to its species. Every animal has a right to the care of its owner. Whether a small, white mouse or a large horse - an animal is a living being with heart, soul and organs. It deserves respect and responsible handling until the last second of its life.
Animals that have health restrictions due to an accident still want to live. They show us daily by their joy of life that it is good that doctors do not agree to euthanasia without discussion. However, one thing must not happen: there must be no suffering. Foxy and Hook do not suffer - their joy of life grows more and more every day.
