New addition to the "donkey gang" in Henndorf
Seppl, Felix, Leonie and Georgia
Seppl, Felix, Leonie and Georgia came to their new forever home about two months ago to Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf. Their owner is old and especially due to illness no longer able to take care of his four pets. Feeding and care was taken over by a relative as a substitute. For many years, the donkey owner has been a supporter of Gut Aiderbichl and his most fervent wish is that his four donkeys will be rehomed at the Henndorf donkey house. With a heavy heartbut with the knowledge that it is the best decision, he asked for his donkeys to be taken in. In a very well-kept and healthyexcellent health condition, the donkeys arrived in Henndorf.
Seppl, Felix, Georgia and Leonie held back elegantly
The stable was prepared and a loud "Welcome-Iah" echoed through the donkey stable. The group of four was rather reserved and shy. In the morning, the keepers left the stable door open, but the donkeys did not want to go outside. In such a case only patience and love and donkey, like Santino and Peterle, for example, who kept passing by the new arrivals and invited them to come along. At some point the spell was broken. Quietly, calmly and elegantly, as donkeys are, they run and play with the Henndorf donkeys as if they had always done so.
Seppl, the great thinker
Donkeys think a lot, ponder and, before deciding on an action, they rather think again. Humans confuse this hesitant behaviour with stubbornness.
Unlike the horse, the donkey is not a flight animal and is not stressed. The donkey has also the ability to establish a deep relationship with people. It could also be observed that Seppl misses his former owner very much and suffered from the separation. He will never forget his master, but since a few days it seems that Hippi, Sascha and Peterle are approaching Seppl. At first it was a tussle and tussle, but now Seppl is clearly as a friend. Slowly Seppl is losing his shyness and reserve and is settling in well in his new home.
Georgia, Leonie and Felix - the free spirits
Felix, Georgia and Leonie were shy at first and suffered from the separation, but they accepted the new living conditions more quickly than Seppl. Georgia and Leonie are two adorable donkey ladies who now often decide to walk around the yard as a pair. They also like to walk to the animal buffetwith Marie and Donna Anna. Felixthe oldest of the new donkey group, 13 years old, is above it all and lovesto spend time at the animal buffet too.
Mario, Crown Prince Rudolf and Falco take a liking to the "newcomers"
Mario has been the leader of the "donkey gang" in Henndorf for years. Again and again, they surprise us with funny interludes by day and night, and we notice that Seppl harmonises quite well with Mario.
The new phase of life seems to point in a happy direction for the donkeys. Seppl, Felix, Georgia and Leonie feel good. They have dared to take the step out of the stable and notice that everyone means well with them. His donkeys send a quiet "Iah" to the former owner, which is supposed to mean: "We will never forget you and always love you. Iah!".
Someone can open the door for you, but you have to go through it yourself.
