Hannah & her nameless calf
A last second rescue
Pregnant Hannah was saved at the last moment
Gut Aiderbichl's animal rescuers have already been able to help over 700 cattle in hopeless situations. The majority were about to die at the slaughterhouse. However, again and again there are situations that astonish you and where it is then said: "Nothing with dying, a continuation of life is guaranteed". Most often, animal life is saved by attentive people who spare no effort to save a rabbit, a dog, a pig, a chicken or, as in this case, a cow with her unborn child from the butcher.
Never judge people who are in a situation you have never been in

The veterinary office was informed in the middle of the year about the poor keeping of cattle on a farm. Life, the farm structure, animal husbandry - everything was out of joint. Unfortunately, it also seemed as if the farmer had not realised the extent of the disaster.
One thing seemed clear, however: he would not have tolerated his animals being taken to the slaughterhouse. He agreed to looking for a new home for his cattle.
Here again the thought applies that if you help people, you can also help animals. Unfortunately, the man's life had gone off the rails, but thanks to an animal welfare worker, his animals could be helped. Thus, cow Hannah came to us from that farmer who is forbidden to keep animals on his farm in the future.
Hannah came to Gut Aiderbichl in foal
A cow carries her calf in her belly for nine months. We could not get exact information about Hannah's pregnancy.
Carefully and lovingly she was led onto the Gut Aiderbichl animal transporter. The journey was to go to Eslarn, where she was already awaited by our estate manager Michael and all the animals living there.
A clean stable with lots of bedding was prepared and there was healthy hay, which Hannah liked straight away. Days of acclimatisation followed, and then came the day of the birth of her calf.
A healthy lucky calf saw the light of day
Hannah calved without any problems and gave birth to a healthy, beautiful cow girl. Michael said, "I've been to the calvings so many times, but it's a miracle every time. The little one is in perfect health. There is still one problem: the cow-calf does not have a name yet".
The story about Hannah and her cow-calf is a very emotional one. We would like to pass on these emotions to the readers and hope that you can help us find a name.
What should our lucky girl be called - Happy, Gigi or Stella?
