Cat Pluto
Who simply wanted to stay in familiar surroundings
Cats are considered to be very sensitive and you can really upset their little ideal world if the owner decides to change the flat.
Animals feel the hustle and bustle of clearing out rooms and packing things into boxes and crates. Cuddling and petting can unfortunately come up short in the course of a change of residence.
Despite all the fuss and noise of dismantling furniture, it would also be the wrong way to want to protect your pet and place it with a family member or with friends. Animals want to be part of our lives, and that includes "strange", unfamiliar noisy days.
Pluto did not want to leave the familiar surroundings at all
Pluto's owner changed flats within the same place. The four-year-old black and white cat did not like the new home and kept running back to the familiar flat. Countless times, the owner picked up her cat from the very angry new flat owner. Back home, Pluto was locked up, but this did not impress the cat and so quickly she could not see Pluto arriving at the "old address" again.
Footsteps should not be a solution for bonding with Pluto's new home
The situation was getting worse and worse, and Pluto was making people's blood boil. The new resident kicked the cat. This animal cruelty, however, did not stop Pluto from wanting to continue to be in his familiar surroundings.
Animals should be accustomed to new living situations
Demonstratively and extremely persistently, Pluto had made it clear that he was unhappy with the situation. The humans were desperate - how to tell a cat that from now on there would be a new flat?
This won't work with words but with little organisational tricks. For example, one can bring the cat's litter box, the feeding place and the favourite cuddly blanket to the new flat, and when the smells have settled there, gently bring the animal in a box to the new home.
Pluto has found a great friend at Gut Aiderbichl Teufen - Möhrli
The cat Möhrli had lived with nuns in a convent for some years. At some point, only a convent sister and Möhrli lived there. Nobody wanted to take over Möhrli and they even thought of putting her to sleep.
The better solution was to ask Gut Aiderbichl and Möhrli has become a very happy black tomcat for about a year now and is showing Pluto his new home. There will be no more kicking now - on the contrary, Pluto enjoys his new friends and the stroking hands of the animal keepers in Teufen.
