Cat Leila
Animals have feelings and a soul like humans
A lady loved her cat Leila more than anything. In order to know that she was covered if something should happen to her, a pet insurance policy was taken out. The owner has now unfortunately passed away, and a sick, weak cat found shelter at Traisen, a branch of Gut Aiderbichl.
Animals suffer when they lose their owner for any reason
The often years-long coexistence of man and animal eventually becomes a beautiful habit. You know each other, man and animal are friends, there is trust and love.
An accident, circumstances that force you to give up your animal or death: these are situations in which not only the human being suffers, but also the animal.
So it is good to take precautions. If one is the owner of one or more animals, one should regard them as needing protection and as members of the family. Michael Aufhauser was preoccupied with this question for a long time until he launched the Aiderbichl Animal Welfare. Animal owners are thus enabled to make provisions for their animals. The loving and species-appropriate stay at Gut Aiderbichl is ensured after the owner's death.
The death of the owner seemed to make Leila even weaker and sicker
Leila had been given to her previous owner years ago. The two lived a good life until the lady died and Leila, according to the animal care, was brought to Gut Aiderbichl.
Leila gave to understand that she suffered from the loss of the beloved human being and so the forces decreased not only because of her own illnesses. Leila had a huge tumor on the right front paw and at the same time suffered from a very sick and weak heart.
An amputation of the front paw would not have coped with her little heart
We wanted to accompany Leila palliative until her last breath. The vets said that it would be possible to amputate the paw with the bone tumor, but her sick heart would not have played along with this intervention.
So we lovingly tried to let Leila feel all our love, care and necessary nursing in her last days. There was no other way than to accompany her.
Leila continued to ask for food for a few more days, loved to be petted, and even purred: it was a soft, weak purr. Leila's life candle had no more power and so the vet helped her to go gently over the Rainbow Bridge.
It is not important whether the animals live for many years or for a few days under the protection of Gut Aiderbichl that they are noticed, that they are loved, cherished and cared for.
It is important that we make them feel important and let them go at that moment when the animal's eyes are trying to say, "Now it is important for me to go."
Dear Leila, take care and enjoy the warm bedding in cat heaven.
"You only love what you know, and you only protect what you love."
