The abandoned goat Vincent
And its friends
From the perspective of Gut Aiderbichl
(written by Gisela Pschenitschnig)
The dwarf goat Vincent has been living at the Für-Immer home in Deggendorf for about eight years.
Looking at Vincent, it is actually unimaginable that he and another five dwarf goats had been abandoned years ago in a paddock next to a road. An animal lover who lives near Gut Aiderbichl Deggendorf discovered the goats one day. Next to the group lay the Gut Aiderbichl magazine with the note.
"Goats please drop off here"
The animal-loving woman wanted to feed her two donkeys in the evening and was astonished when she saw the Dwarfegen together with Aiderbichl magazine with the above mentioned note discovered. She immediately picked up the phone and informed the staff of Gut Aiderbichl in Deggendorf.
The disturbed and frightened dwarf goats were virtually "persuaded" for hours., to the Good Aiderbichl transporter. What now sounds funnytwas not an easy undertaking. If the animals had felt frightened or cornered, the action would have been doomed to failure. Carefully and with good coaxing, Vincent, Tonga, MoreaSamoa, Tahiti and Martin could be captured. In Deggendorf, a stable with plenty of hay and straw was already waiting for the abandoned group of goats. Since particularly strict laws apply to all cloven-hoofed animals, the group first spent a certain time in quarantine until the necessary blood tests were completed.
"Disposal" of animals
Let's try to look at the issue objectively and ask ourselves why animals are abandoned again and again?
There are probably the most different reasons why people abandon their animals: Animals make work, animals cost money, animals need a clean stable, animals I can not leave alone for weeks in case of a vacation, animals become a burden when the owner is sick, and possibly also loses his job. The list why people abandon animals would become incredibly long.
But there is only one answer when I can no longer keep my animals for a certain reason: Honesty, compassion for the creature and a sense of responsibility.
Abandoning animals anonymously out of shame is not commendable human behavior. Sometimes it may really be the case that people are ashamed to ask an animal welfare institution, for example, whether the animals can be surrendered.
Vincent is a Casanova
As it is written in the book
Vincent and his friends have been living at the Heimathof in Deggendorf for seven years. The animals have settled in well, are inquisitive and nimble around the farm all day, and respect and love the animal keepers. They are just grateful to feel that they have a carefree home here until the natural end of their lives.
Goat Schnucki lives since the illness of the owner at the home farm in Deggendorf and has fallen madly in love with the Vincent. As it is - Vincent enjoys and is silent and, if Schnucki is just distracted, he poses for another female goat that just walks past him. Well - important, it goes in the well!
He who does no evil has done no good.
