Elsa and Grüni
Two fellow creatures in colorful plumage
From the perspective of Gut Aiderbichl
Elsa and Grüni have been living for over two months at the Gut Aiderbichl in Henndorf near Salzburg. There were health, time and space-related reasons why for the the two budgerigar beauties were looking for a new home was sought.
The large budgie house in Henndorf appeals to the funny parakeets
The flock of birds in the budgie house is getting bigger and more colorful. Here it chirps, it shines in bright colors, here sit and fly little personalities in colorful dress. They enjoy the sun or quietly retreat to rest.
A few years ago, we rescued 323 budgerigars from an old apartment. The birds were living there in a very small space. When the door to the apartment was opened, the staff were met with a pungent odor. It smelled of excrement, despair, neglect and hopelessness. A catastrophe had happened here, but all the animals were able to become Aiderbichlers.
People can buy almost anything
The People can buy reptiles, ornamental fish, ponies, donkeys, various birds, rats, mice etc. Does anyone wonder whether the animals are happy with this? The natural system determines where the conditions for animal breeds or plants are adapted. We intervene intervene and change the natural distribution network so, that is practical and profitable. Eactually the natural system is well well thought out, logical and species-appropriate.
The original home of budgerigars is Australia. They can now be found in many parts of the world and especially in many European households. Here they sit in cages and you would think that they have everything they need. Everything is taken care of. Everything they need can be bought in various pet stores.
"We want to know that Elsa and Grüni are in good hands..."
It would be wonderful if good Aiderbichl had a home farm in Australia toohadthen all the budgies could live in their natural habitat in the future. natural home in the future.
Our animal keepers try to provide the beautiful, colorful birds with a well-designed home. We have the impression that the parakeets want for nothing. They sing, talk and everything seems to be fine for the ever-growing family of birds.
If you listen more closely, it could perhapsbe that one or the other parakeet wants to convey "...I actually want to be out there. My home is nature, the trees, the sky, the sun and the wind ...".
Nature speaks softly, you just have to listen very carefully.
