Cat Wölfli

the faithful cat soul

A very sad, concerned woman wrote an email message to the Aiderbichl animal emergency service. She is always taking animals from animal welfare under her care. Currently, the animal-loving lady has two older male cats and two dogs. The second dog she took in does not like cats very much. As a result, one of her tomcats "rented" a home with people in the neighbourhood and Wölfli, the second tomcat, who is now almost 18 years old, is completely stressed by the new living conditions.
Wölfli came to his owner at the age of 5 and was always a loyal cat to her. As life often goes, the idyll was disturbed by the new addition of the dog and Wölfli, with his nevertheless stately age, felt stressed and perhaps also displaced.

A quiet life in the cat house Teufen

Wölfli's owner asked if she could perhaps get a place for her old, faithful tomcat at the Aiderbichl cat shelter in Teufen, Switzerland, because she wanted a calm, relaxed atmosphere for her Wölfli.
Some time before her enquiry, she had become acquainted with the cat homes at Gut Aiderbichl Deggendorf and Iffeldorf, and thought that her Wölfli could definitely feel at home there. An animal shelter as a way out for a continued life was out of question for the lady.
So old Wöfli moved to Teufen in Switzerland and seems to feel very comfortable there. He has already found a real friend - the black Möhrli, who had come to Teufen from a convent. Möhrli had grown fond of the sisters, but his idyllic life in the convent was also to end abruptly, for the convent sisters were becoming fewer and fewer.
Möhrli was fed and cared for by two convent sisters shortly before the convent was dissolved and, at some point, only one sister and Möhrli the cat lived in the convent. The sister had to leave and move. But what was to happen to the convent cat Möhrli? No one wanted him and with a heavy heart they were already thinking of putting the animal to sleep. Miraculously, this was prevented. The good Lord probably had other plans for Möhrli.

Teufen is fully booked again

Wölfli and his new friend Möhrli live at Teufen in an ideal location in the middle of meadows and without the danger of a road. Every day, tomcat Möhrli shows Wölfli a few new "secrets" in the cat house at Teufen. Since mid-January, Wölfli has been living stress-free, cared for and very well looked after by his friend Möhrli in his new surroundings.
Franziska, the manager in Teufen, has two dogs, but whatever it may be - Wölfli and his friend Möhrli walk past the pelt-noses calmly and serenely.

One might think that Ernest Hemingway is right:

"Cats effortlessly achieve what we humans are denied:
To go through life without making noise".
