Pig Roxi

a mini pig, has moved into the pig palace

A stable, where numerous animals lived, unfortunately had to be evacuated. The owner was able to find a new home for all the protégés, except for pig Roxi.

Dieter Ehrengruber quickly agreed to take her in, and a huge problem was solved. In the large straw beds of our Pig Palace in Henndorf, there will always be room for pigs looking for a new forever-home.

Roxi, the little wild one

Roxi is about five years old and has a gray complexion. She loves children and women. However, she is not very fond of men.

Roxi seems to be a little cheerful. She is strong-willed, doesn't put up with anything quickly and knows exactly what she wants and what she doesn't want. Roxi hasn't been living in the Pig Palace for too long, but somehow you get the impression that she is the boss next to Pig Frieda. Roxi would not be satisfied by being the chief assistant.

"Oink, oink, there are really a lot of pigs here, too. Big ones, small ones, very fat ones and rather slim ones. Light and dark pigs. Interesting. One that I like quite a bit is Clemens. A pot-bellied pig with a crooked neck. Whatever that is. Heard it when told on a tour that Clemens has a crooked cervical spine. Interesting. Well, now I'll keep looking...".

Anyway, Clemens is a pot-bellied pig and he has decided to rather avoid Roxi. He doesn't want any problem. Pigs have strict hierarchies that must be adhered to so that there are no quarrels in and around the pig palace.

"I've never been interested in fighting or being the strongest. I'd rather go around the bend and lie down somewhere in the sun to relax. I like it rather quiet and comfortable. Roxi, yes...I have probably noticed that she often tail behind me. She should learn to be a little calmer and less restless, then she can happily lie down next to me in the thick straw bed. She still has to learn a little, Roxi. But, she is a very sweet mini pig!".

"I like Roxi, too. She's just a lot smaller than me, but I like her. I've also whispered to her where to drop a treat here and there: it's better to walk back and forth in front of the barn by the animal buffet, where the feed room is, until an animal keeper comes. They already know me, and know what I would like. Roxi likes it very much...". Bernadette, a gray and pink noble pig, is happy about her new friend.

Pigs have many similarities with humans

Whether large or small pigs - they are as intelligent as apes and men. Each pig has its own character, preferences and habits. They are personalities and have feelings like fear and joy.
Pigs are willing to learn and they have perseverance in everything they do.

Let's wish lively Roxi a long, healthy life among all her friends at the Pig Palace. If you are looking for her, just open your ears. She is the loudest one.
